Limestone County Warrant Records Limestone County Warrant Records

When asking about a court case, choose the office responsible for the file. The issuing court controls its docket and recall orders; the sheriff can route jail, service, or custody inquiries. County felony and misdemeanor files go through different clerks, while JP and city citations stay with their issuing courts. Have the court name and citation or cause number ready. Ask what identification the office needs and what record confirms the next step. Do not send payment or court papers to an unrelated office. Read the notice first.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. Limestone County Warrant Records cannot confirm a warrant, recall process, post bond, arrange an appearance, or give legal advice. The court controls its warrant; the sheriff or serving agency can answer its own service and custody questions.

Need Official Warrant Information?

Choose the Limestone County office that matches the case type. If the court is unclear, use the citation or ask the first clerk to route the inquiry:

  • Service or custody: Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, 912 N Tyus Street, Groesbeck, TX 76642, (254) 729-3278. Administrative hours are listed as weekdays, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; the jail division is listed as 24/7.
  • County misdemeanor file: Limestone County Clerk, 200 W State Street, Suite 102, Groesbeck; (254) 729-5504. The County Clerk supports County Court criminal administration and related process.
  • District felony file: Limestone County District Clerk, 200 W State Street / Suite 206 route, Groesbeck; (254) 729-3206. Confirm the correct office entry before visiting the courthouse complex.
  • JP, city, or traffic case: contact the precinct or municipal court named on the citation. Each JP and city court keeps its own lower-court case route.
  • Recall, bond, or legal advice: ask the issuing court about its procedure and speak with a licensed Texas attorney about legal strategy.

The Sheriff's Office publishes no dedicated warrant counter or surrender-window schedule. Call before traveling and ask whether the question belongs with the sheriff, jail staff, or a particular court clerk. The published sheriff number is a general route, not a guarantee of phone status disclosure.

County Clerk and District Clerk Routes

The County Clerk's office is at 200 W. State Street, Suite 102, Groesbeck, and lists 254-729-5504. Its criminal administration route concerns County Court misdemeanor matters and related filings. If a document names the County Court or gives a county cause number, ask the clerk to locate that specific file and explain whether a later setting, payment, or order appears.

The District Clerk is at 200 W. State Street, Suite 206, Groesbeck, and lists 254-729-3206. Felony cases assigned to the 77th or 87th District Court belong on this route. The courthouse complex contains multiple offices, so confirm the suite and court assignment before a visit. A county clerk's file and a district clerk's file are not interchangeable.

Neither office is a general warrant hotline. Ask for the record custodian for the named case, and contact the issuing judge or court about recall, bond, or a required appearance.

City tickets and ordinance cases are handled by the city court printed on the paper. Each court controls its own docket, forms, hours, and payment instructions:

  • Mexia: 211 N. Sherman Street, 254-562-4181; weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The deputy clerk is listed at 254-562-4118. Police office contact is 254-562-4154; after-hours police routing goes to Limestone County Dispatch at 254-729-4555.
  • Groesbeck: 901 W. Yeagua Street, 254-729-5794, court@cityofgroesbeck.com; weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a noon-to-1 p.m. lunch closure.
  • Coolidge: the city lists court clerk contact at 254-300-9002 and municipal.court@cityofcoolidgetx.com; weekday service is generally 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., subject to holiday or emergency changes.

  • Thornton: P.O. Box 396, Thornton, TX 76687, 254-380-1085. Its court page provides forms and payment links but no public warrant roster.

Call the court before mailing a response or visiting. Hours and form instructions can change, and a payment provider may handle a transaction without confirming a recall.

Questions to Ask Before a Visit

Have the issuing court, case or citation number, and the date on the notice ready. Ask whether the office has a current entry for that exact case, whether an appearance is required, what payment methods or forms apply, and what written record will show completion. If a case moved or was filed in another jurisdiction, ask the clerk where the record went and which office now controls it.

Do not rely on an old directory, an unsolicited payment link, or a phone answer from an office that does not own the docket. The contact listed here is a starting point; the court's current website and the case document should be checked before acting.
